Version 0.1.0 · 3/10 milestones done · The first release is not out yet.

The demo loop will play here once it is recorded from the real app.

In the app today

One block per feature area. A tag says whether it is available or still planned, and in which milestone. The tags follow the roadmap in the repository.

Schematic

Available

Multi-page projects with IEC symbols, single-line and multi-line pages, your own frame, title block and drawing style.

IEC 60617IEC 81346IEC 61082ISO 5457

Devices and cross-references

Available

One device, several representations, counted once in the BOM and cross-referenced both ways. Connectors with named pins, macros, nested assemblies.

IEC 81346IEC 61439

Wires and reports

Planned (M3)

Automatic wire numbers, terminal diagrams, cable and wire lists, nameplates and exports, all generated live from the schematic.

IEC 60204-1IEC 60445IEC 60757

Checks and revisions

Planned (M4)

A continuous electrical rule check with one-click fixes, issued revisions, a generated cover sheet and a comparison of two revisions.

IEC 60364-5-52IEC 60204-1

PLC

Planned (M5)

PLC racks and I/O cards as devices, an I/O assignment overview, and tag lists in the formats the engineering tools accept.

Cabinet layout

Planned (M6)

Mounting plate to scale in 2D with dimensions and side view, a 3D view, duct fill rate and a drilling DXF.

IEC 61439

A complete drawing set

What the workshop gets, printed from the project with nothing drawn by hand afterwards. The thumbnails show the DC battery-charger sample once it exists.

AI inside, you decide

Coming in the next release

An optional assistant with your own API key is planned. It will propose, and you accept or reject. The app is fully usable without it.

Example prompts

  • Add a star-delta starter for a 7.5 kW motor on page 5
  • Renumber the wires on pages 3 to 8
  • Why does the check say Q3 is too small?

A proposal, with a source on every claim

  • Read from this project
  • A standard and clause
  • A library entry
  • Suggestion: confirm it, with its assumptions

Accept Reject

Electrical values the assistant proposes are always labelled as suggestions and must be confirmed by the engineer.

Why CablePilot

Local first

It runs on your computer. No account, no cloud, no tracking.

Open format

Projects are versioned JSON that diffs well in Git. PDF, DXF and CSV or XLSX out. No lock-in.

Sourced values

Every rule and table value cites its standard and clause. What we could not verify is listed, not shipped as fact.

Open source

Apache-2.0. Read it, change it, build on it.

How it compares

We only make claims we can back. This table shows what CablePilot offers and when. Columns for other tools are added only after each claim is verified against the vendor’s own documentation.

The demo

Recording in progress. The demo is recorded from the real app by a script, so it can be made again whenever the interface changes.
